YOU WILL NEED
Sirdar Softspun Chunky 53% nylon, 24% wool, 23% acrylic (approx 125m per 50g)
9[9:9:10:10:10] x 50g balls 562 Frostie (A)
Sirdar Snuggly Baby Bamboo DK 80% bamboo sourced viscose, 20% wool (approx 95m per 50g)
3[3:4:4:4:5] x 50g balls 132 Putty (B)
1 pair each 5mm and 5.5mm needles Cable needle

SIZES

TENSION
18 sts and 23 rows to 10cm over st st using 5.5mm needles and Softspun Chunky.Use larger or smaller needles if necessary to obtain correct tension.

C4F = cable 4 front: slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at front of work, k2, then k2 from cable needle.

PATTERN NOTES
Work Yarn B double, ie. two strands together

BACK
Using 5.5mm needles and A,
ca s t on 88[92:96:104:108:112] s ts.
Row 1 (RS): K3, (p2, k2) to last st, k1.
Row 2: K1, (p2, k2) to last 3 sts, p2, k1.
Change to st st and beg k row work straight
until back meas 14cm (5.5in) from beg,
ending after a p row. **
Next row: K5[7:5:9:6:8], (k2tog, k2[2:3:2:3:3])
to last 7[9:6:11:7:9] sts, k2tog, k to end.
68[72:78:82:88:92] sts.
*** Break A.
Join in B using yarn double.
Work in cable patt:
Row 1 (WS): Purl.
Row 2: K2[2:1:1:2:2], C4F to last 2[2:1:1:2:2] sts,
k 2 [2:1:1:2:2].
Row 3: Purl.
Row 4: Knit.
Rep these 4 patt rows 4 times more, then
Rows 1 to 2 again.
Break off B.
Join in A. ***

Beg k row work a few rows in st st until work

Shape raglan
Rows 1and 2: Cast off 2 sts loosely,
work to end.
Row 3: K1, k2tog tbl, k to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1.

Rep Rows 3 to 6 until 68[75:77:84:88:93] sts

RIGHT FRONT
Using 5.5mm needles cast on
48[52:52:56:60:60] sts, work as for back to **.

to last 10[4:7:3:8:8] sts, k2tog, k to end.
32[36:38:42:44:44] sts.
Work as back from *** to ***.
Next row: P6[6:7:3:4:4], (inc purlways in next st,
p1[2:2:4:4:3]) to last 6[6:7:4:5:4] sts, inc in next
st, p to end. 43[45:47:50:52:54] sts.
Beg k row work a few rows in st st until work
meas same as back to raglan shaping,
ending at side edge.
Shape raglan
Row 1: Cast off 2 sts loosely, work to end.

Row 3: K1, p to end.
Row 4: Knit.
Row 5: As row 3.
Rep Rows 2-5 until 34[37:38:42:44:46] sts rem,
ending after Row 5.
Now rep Rows 2 and 3 only until

Shape neck
Next row: Cast off 6[6:8:9:10:10] sts loosely,
k to last 3 sts, k2tog.
Work 3 rows dec 1 st at neck edge on
every row and at raglan edge as before.
7[8:7:8:8:9] sts.
Cont dec at raglan edge only as before
until 2 sts rem.
Work 1 row.
Fasten off.
LEFT FRONT
Work as right front to ****.
Row 2: Purl.
Row 3: K1, k2tog tbl, k to end.
Row 4: P to last st, k1.
Row 5: Knit.
Row 6: As row 4.
Rep Rows 3 to 6 until 34[37:38:42:44:46] sts
rem, ending after Row 6.

Blouson jacket-free knitting pattern

Now rep Rows 3 and 4 only until 18[19:20:22:23:24] sts rem, ending after Row 3.
Shape neck
Next row: Cast off 6[6:8:9:10:10] sts loosely,
p to last st, k1. Complete to match right front.
SLEEVES
Using 5.5mm needles and with yarn B 4 double, cast on 36[40:40:44:44:48] sts.
Work 22 rows in cable patt as given for fi rst size on back.
Break off B.
Join in A.
Next row: P4[6:4:7:5:7], (inc purlways in next st) 28[28:32:30:34:34] times, p to end. 64[68:72:74:78:82] sts.
Change to st st and beg k row work straight until sleeve meas 38cm (15in) from beg, ending after a p row.
Shape raglan
Work Rows 1 to 6 as for back.Rep Rows 3 to 6 until 42[48:52:54:60:64] sts rem, ending after Row 6.
Now rep Rows 3 and 4 only until 4[4:6:6:6:6] sts rem, ending after Row 4.Cast off.
COLLAR
Using 5mm needles and A, cast on 84[89:94:94:99:104] sts.Row 1 (RS): K3, (p1, k1, p1, k2) to last st, k1.
Row 2: K1, p2, (k1, p1, k1, p2) to last st, k1.Rep these 2 rows until collar meas 16cm
(6.5in) from beg.

Shape neck edge
Keeping rib correct cast off 5 sts at beg of next 6 rows, then 7 sts at beg of next 4 rows.Cast off rem sts.
BORDERS
Using 5mm needles and A, cast on 11 sts.Row 1 (RS): K3, (p1, k1) twice, p1, k3.Row 2: K1, p2, (k1, p1) twice, k1, p2, k1.
Rep these 2 rows until border fi ts up left front edge, allowing for border to be slightly stretched,
Cast off in rib.
Mark position on border for 5 buttons, fi rst to be level with start of waist cable patt, last to be in 5th/6th rows from top edge, and rem 3 spaced evenly between.Work second border as fi rst working holes to match markers thus:
Row 1 (RS): Rib 4, cast off 4 sts, rib to end.Row 2: In rib cast on 4 sts neatly over those cast off.

TO FINISH OFF
Join raglan shapings, side and sleeve seams. Sew on borders. Stitch cast-off edge of collar fi rmly to neck edge between centre of borders.
Sew on buttons. ●
