Finished Measurements
Throw: 40 inches wide x 49 inches long
Pillow: 13 inches wide x 20 inches long

Materials
• Berroco Vintage (worsted weight; 52% acrylic/40% wool/8% nylon; 218 yds/100g per hank): 7 hanks smoke #5106 (A) and 5 hanks breezeway #5194 (B)
• Size 9 (5.5mm) straight and 40-inch circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge
• Cable needle
• Locking stitch markers
• 20 x 13-inch pillow form insert

Gauge
20 sts and 28 rows = 4 inches/10cm in Garter Rib.To save time, take time to check gauge

Special Abbreviations
3 over 3 Right Cross (3/3 RC): Sl 3 sts to cn and hold in back; k3, k3 from cn.
3 over 3 Left Cross (3/3 LC): Sl 3 sts to cn and hold in front; k3, k3 from cn.

Pattern Stitches
Garter Rib 1 (multiple of 6 sts + 3)
Row 1 (RS): Knit.
Row 2: K3, *p3, k3; rep from * to end.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 for pat.

Garter Rib 2 (multiple of 6 sts)
Row 1 (RS): Knit.
Row 2: *K3, p3; rep from * to end.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 for pat.

Cable (multiple of 12 sts + 3)
Note: A chart is provided for those preferring to work pat st from a chart.
Rows 1 and 5 (RS): Knit.
Row 2 and all WS rows: K3, *p9, k3; rep from * to end.
Row 3: *K6, 3/3 RC; rep from * to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 7: *K3, 3/3 LC, k3; rep from * to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 8: K3, *p9, k3; rep from * to end. Rep Rows 1–8 for pat.

Pattern Notes
Work the different-color panels with separate balls of yarn, using the intarsia method. At each color change, bring
the new color from below the color just used to link them together and prevent holes.
Circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches; do not join.
The throw has an edge stitch at each side.

Throw
Border
With circular needle and A, cast on 133 sts, pm; with B, cast on 88 sts—221 sts.
Do not join, work back and forth in rows as follows:
Row 1 (RS): With B, sl 1 pwise wyif (edge st), work Garter Rib 1 to marker;
with A, work Garter Rib 2 to last st, k1 (edge st).
Row 2: With A, sl 1 pwise wyif (edge st), work Garter Rib 2 to marker; with B, work Garter Rib 1 to last st, k1 (edge st).Rep [last 2 rows] 3 times.

Body
Setup Row (RS): With B, sl 1 pwise wyif, work Cable pat to marker; with A, work Garter Rib 2 to last st, k1.
Continue as established until piece measures 47½ inches, ending with a Row 4 or 8.
Border
Row 1 (RS): With B, sl 1 pwise wyif, work Garter Rib 1 to marker; with A, work Garter Rib 2 to last st, k1.
Row 2: With A, sl 1 pwise wyif, work Garter Rib 2 to marker; with B, work Garter Rib 1 to last st, k1.
Rep [last 2 rows] 3 times. Bind off all sts in pat.

Finishing
Block to finished measurements.Weave in ends.
Pillow
With straight needles and A, cast on 66 sts, pm; with B, cast on 39 sts—105 sts. Setup Row (RS): With B, work Cable pat to marker; with A, work Garter Rib 2 to end of row.
Continue as established until piece measures 13 inches, ending with a WS row.
Pm at each end of next row (for fold), then continue as established until piece measures 26 inches, ending with
a WS row. Bind off all sts in pat.

Finishing
Block piece to measurements. Weave in ends.
Fold piece in half at side markers and sew sides of pillow tog. Insert pillow form and sew bound-off and cast-on edges tog.
