Rep Rows 1 and 2 until scarf measures 7 inches, ending with Row 1.
Body
Next row (WS, dec): K5; k2tog, knit to last 7 sts, ssk; k5—42 sts.
Set-up row (RS): K5; work Basket Weave pat to last 5 sts; k5.
Keeping 5 sts at each side in garter st, continue in Basket Weave pat until scarf measures approx 63 inches, ending
with Pat Row 2 or 8.
Next row (RS, inc): K5, M1R, purl to last 5 sts, M1L, k5—44 sts.
Ribbed Border
Beg with a WS row, work as for first border until rib measures 7 inches.
Bind off in rib.
Finishing
Weave in ends.
Block lightly if desired
